Allana M. Benham is a contemporary figurative artist living and working in Montreal. Since 2003, she has co-directed Atelier de Brésoles with husband Eric Mannella. In 2015, she published the first English translation of Dr. Paul Richer's book New Artistic Anatomy: Female Morphology. She has an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BA in Museum Studies from Brown University, and studied landscape painting at the Florence Academy of Art. While at Brown University, she prepared a catalogue of the Minassian Collection of Persian, Islamic, and Mughal miniature paintings. She is a specialist in artistic anatomy and has led courses at Ubisoft and lectured at the Academy of Realist Art, Boston and the Sadie Valeri Atelier in San Francisco. She is hard at work on her next artistic and literary endeavours.

I am looking forward to visiting Sadie Valeri's inspiring atelier and speaking with her students about the work of Dr. Paul Richer. We will examine Richer's approach to human anatomy and morphology and investigate his findings on the forms of the male and female body.
